AIRAID gives you two choices when adding power to these muscle cars. The first option is the AIRAID 350-210 Cold Air Dam Intake System that comes with an oiled cotton gauze & non-woven synthetic air filter. The second option is the AIRAID 351-210 Cold Air Dam Intake System that comes with an oil-free non-woven synthetic air filter. Both air intakes provide great air flow and filtration. Both of these air intakes fit the same vehicles which includes those with a 3.6L Pentastar V-6 base engine. The Pentastar engine has closed the power gap with its Hemi-powered big brothers better than previous V-6 engines were able to do. The AIRAID 351-210 and 350-210 intakes don't ignore the new V6 engine as there is coverage of this engine along with the 5.7 and 6.4 liter V8 engines. AIRAID Offers Air Intake Tubes for You Build It DIYers

Whether you are a car enthusiast who wants to achieve better performance from your car or whether you are a car enthusiast who wants to build a high performance car from scratch, AIRAID offers a variety of air intake components perfect for completing the task.

If you are inquiring about an air intake system, then you probably know what they do. However, for the small chance that you don’t, the air intake system draws air into the engine to assist in giving the proper balance of air/fuel mixture and the best possible performance and fuel mileage. The system includes a mass airflow sensor that monitors the amount of air that goes into the engine and controls the amount of fuel that is mixed with that air. That data is fed to the car’s computer, which serves as the power control module balancing everything out to ensure the best possible performance and fuel mileage of the engine.

You need to be certain that the air filter is clean. So it is advised that you check it every time you change the oil. AIRAID air filters are included in AIRAID air intake component kits and can be washed and reused. So there is no need to buy another filter when you discover that it is too dirty to perform properly. AIRAID also offers air filter cleaning kits that are formulated to clean the filter so that it can be reused.

If you want to construct an air intake system for your car, you may want to start off with the AIRAID 100-025 UBI (you build it) air intake tube set. This one-piece air intake tube includes a variety of bends and straight pipes you need to construct the intake piping for a custom air intake system. The 2-1/2-inch outside diameter one-piece free-flowing tube is roto-molded and can be cut to lengths or bends your project requires.

30°, 45°, 60° and 90° tube bends have been accomplished on the polyurethane tube that has a total weight of 5 pounds. You just measure off the size you need and cut off the piece.

AIRAID universal air filter designed to work with the 100-025 UBI air intake tube include the AIRAID 700-540.

The AIRAID 700-540 is a high performance, high airflow tapered conical air filter that is designed to boost horsepower and torque of the engine. Featuring multiple layers of cotton gauze and non-woven synthetic media and AIRAID’s filtration technology, this filter will efficiently block dirt particles in a way that ordinary cotton-gauze filters are unable to do. The flange inside diameter is 2.5-inches (65mm) making it ideal for the 100-025 tube. Its base outside diameter and large end diameter are 5.375-inches (137mm). Moreover, it is washable and reusable. If properly cleansed when necessary, this filter could be the only one you will ever own.

AIRAID offers intake tubes in a variety of sizes including 3-inches 100-300, 3.5-inches 100-350, 4-inches 100-400, 5-inches 100-500, and 6-inches 100-600.

Air intake tube bends available include 60° on a tube with a 3-inch or 6-inch outside diameter or 30° on a tube with 5-inch outside diameter.

There are also three AIRAID custom air intake UBI master kits that include a variety of hardware to make construction of a “you build it” air intake professional in appearance and performance.

The UBI custom air intake master kit I includes air intake tubing, coupler, hump hose, reducer, brackets, hose clamps, and hardware. There are six kits in this group. Two feature a 3-inch diameter tube with a filter flange of 3-inches and a 9-inch or 6-inch long air filter 101-301 or 101-302. Two include a 3-1/2-inch diameter tube and 3-1/2-inch filter flange and a 9-inch or 6-inch long air filter 101-351 or 101-352. One kit consists of a 4-inch diameter tube, 9-inch filter flange and a 9-inch long air filter 101-401. One kit contains a 5-inch diameter tube, 5-inch filter flange and a 9-inch long air filter, 101-501.

The UBI Custom Air Intake Master Kit II includes air intake tube, coupler, hump hose, reducer, brackets, hose clamps, hardware and air filter adapter. Three kits are available in this group. 101-300 has a 3-inch diameter tube, a 6-inch filter flange a 9-inch long air filter. The second, 101-350, consists of a 3-1/2-inch diameter tube, 6-inch filter flange, and a 9-inch long air filter. The third kit, 101-400 contains a 4-inch diameter tube, 6-inch filter flange, and a 9-inch long air filter.

It's Back to the Future for a Ford F-1

The Ford F-150 pickup truck has been the best-selling vehicle in the United States since 1981, best selling pickup since 1977 and the best selling vehicle in Canada. The truck is equipped with a Ford 2.7-liter V6 EcoBoost engine and a 2.7-liter version is now also available.

The F-150 is part of the F-Series of pickup trucks that started with the F-1 in 1948.

Serendipitously, Henry Bueno, General Manager of Wagner Tuning North America in Fresno, California, discovered an old F-1 parked in the lot of a Falken Tire shop next door. Wagner Tuning, which is headquartered in Germany, manufactures engine and performance products including intercoolers. The intercoolers have been used to improve the performance of EcoBoost engines.

“The intercoolers we make are designed to replace the stock intercooler of the EcoBoost engine. Ours is a larger intercooler than the factory one and allows more air to go through for cooling purposes resulting in more power coming out of the turbo, “ explained Bueno.

The intercooler has been used to improve the performance of EcoBoost engines in the Ford F-150 and Expedition. The modified engine delivers 375-385 horsepower. That is an improvement of 20 to 30 horsepower over the stock EcoBoost engine.

“We wanted to perform an engine swap that would be one of the first to include an automatic transmission,” continued Bueno. “We wanted to change the game.”

So when Bueno discovered the F1 truck, he notified Wagner Tuning in Germany. He sold the executives the idea of using the F1 as the platform that would showcase a Wagner enhanced 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost integrated with an automatic transmission. Once Wagner approved the project, Bueno asked Jacob Stone, owner of Stone Custom Fabrication in Fresno, to construct a chassis for the vehicle and perform the build.

“The goal was to have a 1951 F-1 built around the EcoBoost platform,” explained Stone. “Wagner found the products they wanted in the build and I called the companies to confirm that they wanted to participate and to arrange for the products to be sent to me.”

Besides a stock 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost engine, the products Stone collected included an intercooler from Wagner and a 400-338 air intake system from AIRAID that they had to modify to make it work with the engine swap.

Thanks to a ton of frame, suspension, and body work, the old F-1 sits hard on the Las Vegas tarmac

Stone and his crew began the project performing modifications on the F-1. They fabricated mounts for the engine and constructed a fuel cell with pump from scratch. The bed and fenders were modified, the rear was sectioned and raised about 3-inches and an inch was chopped from the bottom of the truck.

When inspecting the engine compartment of the F-1, Stone concluded that fitting everything in would be a difficult undertaking and he discovered that there wasn’t much room between the firewall and the dashboard.

Stone had to commission another shop in Fresno, Painless Wiring, to make a wiring harness to accommodate the 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine and to make certain that it worked properly with the transmission.

The AIRAID 400-338 air intake system offers an estimated boost of 33-horsepower.

Despite the limited space, the crew was able to fit in the modified engine, the Ford automatic transmission, and custom hoses for the transmission and radiator into the engine compartment. They removed the stock firewall and items under the dash and constructed and placed a custom firewall.

With the area under the dash now vacant, many of the vehicle’s components were placed there including the brake and steering system, the front controls, the vehicle computer and fuse box. The crew also constructed a full chassis, control arms and suspension in-house.

Eduardo’s Upholstery in Fresno wrapped the entire interior including the doors in leather, Kool Hand Luke performed the exterior paintwork while Homie Paint Shop did the task in the engine compartment and interior.

Although Stone Custom Fabrication had the truck for about one year, the project took about four months. The vehicle debuted as a Wagner Tuning feature vehicle at the 2016 SEMA show.
